A cobalt blazer is a must have. If you are looking for something with a little more interest than a standard navy blazer and still want to fit into a conservation work environment, the cobalt blazer is the perfect option. I have worn this one multiple times and reach for it over and over again. The color has remained popular season to season, and I have a feeling it's going to get paired with olive this fall.  Another fun option for your work attire is a green pencil skirt. You don't have to go all out in color. Pair it with a white button up and more neutral blazer, or leave the blazer off and go with leopard accessories, as shown here.

This combination should have been obvious but it took me a while to realize this blouse goes perfectly with the skirt. Oh how I love remixing my closet.

Have a great weekend!

Let me just get right to the point and tell you about my awful experience with Shein. It was Sheinside at the time of my purchase so I hope lots of things changed with the name. I ordered this skirt back in March. It took me a few months to get around to wearing it. Maybe I've been holding my grudge against the skirt. Anyway,  I see lots of bloggers posting Sheinside products with good reviews,  so I thought I'd give them a try. I'm not part of their affiliate or blogger program and I have to question those who are after this experience. I ordered two skirts and a blazer. I thought the other skirt was too long and full for me and the blazer just didn't quite fit. The policy on the website says "free returns" so I put in a ticket for my return label. Imagine my surprise when I got a response that indicated I would be paying for return shipping. Um NO that's not what the site says.
So, I get a label and mail the items back to them. OVER A MONTH LATER, I am emailing to point out that tracking shows they have had  the items back for over a month and they still have not refunded me. That is poor customer service and I will likely not do business with them again.

I got lots of compliments on this skirt and outfit, but if you take a close look, the quality is poor. The stitching in the hem in crooked and backstitched in many places. Looks like some of my own sewing. I paid someone else for this. Although, I didn't really pay much so truth to the old saying "You get what you pay for."

How to peel a banana

I have not worn this blouse in a long time. I remember that I thought I just had to have a mint blouse. I even replaced one with this one for a more comfortable fit, but then the infatuation with mint wore off and I just don't wear it much anymore. I decided to try and change up the combo with the tan shoes and belt.

Did you know that there is a right way and a wrong way to peel a banana? I've always peeled it by the stem but according to The Crazy Russian Hacker you should start at the bottom. Who knew?
I know that has nothing to do with this outfit. It's just some crazy trivia I recently learned and thought I'd share.

A pop of leopard

I've worn this suit many, many times, but never with black. I'm also trying to break out of my rut of wearing plain black or brown belts everyday. I went with a pop of leopard. Just a little color or pattern can make an otherwise neutral outfit pop.

Chartreuse and grey

I tend to gravitate to the same color over and over for several days in a row. Thus chartreuse on Sunday and then again on Monday a few weeks ago. This outfit is composed of my spring wardrobe capsule picks. I gave up that experiment before I got around to wearing this, but it was nice to have an outfit already put together on stand by.

Here is another way I wore this blouse during the capsule.

Saturday shopping

UPDATE: Now through July 28, get 35% off with code COOL.

Today online at Old Navy (online only and today only) take %30 off your order. They have already lowered prices and you'll save even more today. Here are my picks for back to school, early fall, or to wear now. According to the Pantone Fall color report shades of olive (dried herb and desert sage) and of course marsala will be popular. I'd grad the floppy hat in marion berry and the bucket bag in asparagus.

Have  great weekend and happy shopping!

The unworn list

I have a list of unworn items in my closet. Some are new items and some are older items that I didn't wear last year. You know how they say if you haven't worn it in a year, it needs to go. I struggle with that because I can't wear some of these items to work, so they are for weekend or Sunday only. That's only 52 opportunities. Cut that down to about half for each season and the opportunities are less. That means I don't really need some of these pieces, but I love them anyway so they hang around (pun intended).

This silk maxi skirt was on the list. I picked it up for $5 at our local thrift store last summer. LAST SUMMER- oops. I didn't wear it until recently. Don't let the bright color throw you. It will pair nicely with lots of neutrals, including chambray and leopard. I started with grey. This silk tee was a clearance purchase a few years ago and has seen a good bit of recent wear. I seem to rotate through things that way. This tee is one of those great items that can be worn for work or play.

Hope you have a great weekend. Linking up here:

Or button down? Which is it? I think some use it interchangeably now. I think the correct use is button down for men's shirts with button down collars. A button up is a man or woman's shirt that buttons up the front. Either way, mine is wildy patterned and bright.

I've worn this shirt before under a sweater:

Thanks for stopping by. Hope you are having a great week!
