Green pencil skirt= ten ways

Good morning! If we can survive this week, most of us will have a long weekend this weekend and a short week next week! There is light at the end of the tunnel.

Pencil skirts are great for office environments. Don't think you have to stick with black, navy, grey, or khaki. Add some color. Here are ten ways I've worn my green pencil skirt.

Everyone has been talking about fall lately, but I have been trying to ignore it because it will still be a good two months before I can get into anything truly fall related. It may even be hot here in November. However, I guess subconsciously the fall talk got to me as I put together this earthy toned outfit. I actually had a light bulb moment when I was staring into my closet one evening and realized this cardigan and top would go together. Both pieces have been a part of my wardrobe for several years but I have never thought about wearing them together. Mustard was the obvious pairing for me. So glad I realized this version of green would work too.

Where does time gooooo? I struggle to keep up with anything in my life now days. But  I do have good things going on, so I shouldn't complain. This top and bright jacket are a good thing. They are cheery and made the perfect pieces to keep me up on a tired Friday last week.

Remember this tee from the post two days ago? The same day that I wore it with the skirt, I had a cook out to go to that afternoon. I paired the same top with floral shorts and sandals, and I was ready to go. I went with pink accessories for a little more fun and to balance the navy. And I'll admit I was skeptical of these shorts when I first bought them, but they have been worn lots this summer. I still have a few more ways in mind to wear them.

Here is to hoping that I stay well today. The hubby has picked up a stomach virus and was sick all afternoon yesterday.
 
I loved how this outfit turned out. I took three separate pieces and blended them into one outfit. I saw a friend in Belk the day I wore this and she commented on how well I "mixed and matched" clothing. Nothing in this really matches but it works. If you are tempted to wear black pants with an outfit like this, I recommend you substitute grey and see how you like it.

Super quick post because I'm running late. I had an awesome but busy weekend.
I have always worn this skirt in a super casual way before and never thought of wearing it with heels or "dressed up." Inspiration came from Megan's Moda. I reversed the striped piece and went with a striped tee and solid maxi skirt. I loved the result. I didn't wear the floppy straw hat but tried it on for kicks while taking pictures.
