5 reasons to join the GYPO Spring 2018 Challenge

Disclosure: This post contains affiliate links. I receive commission for clicks and purchases made through them.

The GYPO Spring 2018 Capsule Wardrobe is now open and available for purchase. If you have never joined a challenge of this type, here are five reasons why you should.

1. This one is better than ever! Seriously, I signed up for an annual membership so I already have full access. You get 31 days of outfits. This one gives you lots of color substitution options if the chosen color palette doesn't work for you and it also gives you ways to take the daily prompts and dress it up if you need an office outfit instead of a casual one. Can't wear white jeans to work? No problem, sub white trousers or ankle pants.

2. Spring is a new and fun season. If you want to update your wardrobe but not get too trendy, then the Spring 2018 Capsule Wardrobe is for you. The GYPO team has picked out some fun trendy items and mixed them with classic basics. You will get a full shopping list of links. You still get options, but your shopping will be focused and you will actually end up with pieces that create multiple outfits.

3. You don't have to buy a bunch of clothes. Chances are you have many of the items in your closet. I always do, but yet I get inspiration for a new way to wear those pieces!

4. The private Facebook group! These are real women, with real jobs and real lives. Not superstar bloggers who wear tulle skirts and 4 inch heels to heaven only knows where.   Once you join in on the private Facebook group I just know that you’ll understand why I love this program so much. Not only is it making style easy, but it is building up a community of kind and caring women who support each other on their style (and life) journeys each and every day

5.Still not sure? You can try out the program risk free for the first 7 days of outfits. I am confident you will love what you see, but the refund option is available if needed. If you stick with it, you will also get the Spring 2017 challenge as a bonus!

Hope you have a great weekend!

Gives me butterflies

I've had this Old Navy butterfly print top for a few years now, and I was itching to wear it before summer ended. It's one of my favorites.

Black and white for the finale

necklace- Belk  option
earrings- Target  option
shoes- Payless  option  option
worn May 29,2015

I made last Friday the final official day of my spring capsule. I made it through two months with 37 pieces but was too bored to make it the last 21 days til summer. So this is the last outfit of the capsule and completely unplanned. It was not on the list I made but a last minute decision. I still have outfits I can create and wear with those 37 pieces but I was itching to wear some other items.

This is just a simple black and white scheme. I don't think it needs any other explanation.

I was staring blankly at the screen trying to come up with something to say. I searched for something about this outfit that I liked and came up with chandelier earrings. You have seen this particular pair many times. I love this style of earring. With my hair longer, I'm beginning to need to wear larger earrings or else they are not even seen. What's your favorite style of earring? Hoop, chandelier, stud?

Print skirt and VCRs

This morning the radio announcer asked if anyone still had a VCR and VHS tapes. He asked if anyone still watched those VHS tapes. Why yes, we do have a VCR, and for a good while, it was the way our whole system was routed through to make the surround sound and such work. Repair men, and especially the alarm guy who also does sound systems, would come in our home, look at my husband, and say "Sir is that a VCR?" As if it were a dinosaur or something.

I am happy to report we got Uverse a few months ago and we don't use the VCR. We didn't watch VHS tapes either, but like some callers on the radio, I think we have a few for sentimental value. SO, do you still have a VCR?

I last wore this skirt with a patterned top, but I wanted to get another wearing in while I was still inside my self imposed spring capsule. I paired it with the pale yellow button up. This outfit was so simple I almost felt like I wasn't dressed, but I was definitely cooler without a blazer.

Silver shoes

The silver shoes were a last minute decision. I had originally planned to wear black pumps but then I thought about the silver shoes and decided they would go nicely with the grey blazer. I'm glad I decided on them, even though I got a strange look from security at my office building. Then again the same guy was looking at my "field" footwear the next day, so maybe he has a shoe or foot fetish.

I know I'm always vague about work but it's a policy to not discuss or list our place of work on social media, so I keep the details off the blog. I know that I've referred to field attire before, and while I can't explain it's purpose, let's just say it's functional but not fashionable so you will never see it here.  Curiosity is killing you , isn't it?

Pastel floral

Blazer- Ross (old)  option
blouse- Target
pants- Gap
shoes- Belk option
necklace- old  option  option
Worn May 5, 2015

This top from Target has been a work horse in my spring wardrobe. It pairs well with other pastels, brights, and conservative darks and neutrals.

These photos are pretty crappy. I retreated to the back yard because a new neighbor moved in across the street and I just didn't want to take pics in front of the movers and a new audience. By now you would think I wouldn't care who was watching. So... the background is less than appealing and it was breezy again. I'm not complaining too much about the breeze. It makes our climate tolerable.

Hot pink and navy

Blazer- Banana Republic via Thred Up  option
blouse- JCrew Factory  option
pants- Limited
belt- thrifted
necklace- online boutique  option option
shoes- Payless  option  option
Worn April 17, 2015

You can tell a few things from my photos and posts. 1- it's been a bit breezy in the afternoons (photo 3) . 2- I'm still a little behind on posting last months outfits. 3- I really like these nude shoes from Payless.

These shoes are like my summer go to version of black pumps in the winter. I'm sure the black pumps appreciate the break.

I hope everyone had a great Mother's Day!

My favorite outfits so far from my capsule have been the ones with light pastel spring colors. Of course I still like bright colors, but this palette has been so refreshing and relaxing. This outfit was inspired by this one

Hope you are having a fabulous week.
