Coral and grey spring office outfit

Happy Monday! I've had a nice relaxing weekend, and it's time to get back to work. Spring is finally here, but we are not sweating yet, and I'm not complaining. I'm sharing a coral and grey office outfit with you today. It's bright and cheery and perfect for the office during the Spring season.

Oldies but goodies

I've worn all of these pieces before (coral blazer here), but I'm not sure I've shared them together. I love this butterfly print top I found on Poshmark and it has paired nicely with so many other pieces in my wardrobe, both for casual and work wear. You just can't beat a great print.

Are you shopping the Nordstrom sale? I'm not a cardholder, so I'll be waiting until public access, but you can shop now if you have a card, credit or debit linked to your bank account.

Currently I'm eating.... lots of summer fruit. First it was blueberries, and now I've moved on to watermelon and cherries. We also eat lots of bananas year round. I haven't had any this week and I think I'm going into DTs, lol. What are you currently eating?

I purchased this blouse last year at TJMaxx and it became part of my spring wardrobe capsule. I wore it a couple of ways, to include wearing it with these pants and shoes and a mint blazer. It was pretty much the same outfit, just a different blazer. One piece can make such a difference. I received compliments on this all day long on this outfit. I don't remember anyone noticing last year.

Happy Monday! I hope you had a great weekend. We had company this weekend. Our niece and four-year-old great-niece came to visit. We spent Saturday visiting the Sea Turtle Center, painting at Color Me Happy ( a paint your own pottery or canvas shop) and visiting a wild life refuge. We saw alligators, ducks, and a raccoon. This four-year-old is pretty quite and tame but keeping up with her can still wear you out.

I wore this outfit to work last week. I've had a similar version pinned forever, but was lacking the coral pumps. I picked these up a couple of months ago but have held out until spring to wear them. I think they are going to be a fun addition to the closet, but a color like this can be intimidating.

Yay or Nay?

I'm on the fence about whether or not I like these shoes with this outfit. I saw an outfit online pairing light colored beige shoes with grey pants and I liked it. I don't hate it in these pics but I was really self conscious of this all day and felt like my shoes didn't go with my outfit. So what do you say?  Yay or nay?

Believe it or not, this blazer is the same one from this post. The off color is the result of really crappy lighting and only five minutes of time to snap photos. I took them in the morning because I knew it would be dark when I returned that evening. What a difference lighting makes! The top is one of my Nordstrom anniversary sale purchases. This is the first time I've worn it. I've been holding out those purchases for closer to fall. Speaking of fall, it rolled in here with a low of 72 and a high of 80. At least it's not 90+, but it makes for creative fall dressing. No scarves or heavy layers yet.

I recently discovered Bridgette Raes. How have I missed this wealth of information all this time? She has a ton of ideas for us professional working women. She may be a bad influence on my wallet though. I'll explain in a bit. I'm finding unending inspiration at her site. One visit leads me to one suggested post after another, lots of pinning, and lots of searching for new shoes, accessories and items. Some of her suggestions are a bit out of my budget but there is always second hand thrift sites and ebay. You see where this is going?

Not to let all that searching and shopping be in vain, I put together this outfit based on inspiration found from her site. Using the outfits in this post, I came up with my own version. I fell in love with that purse, or rather the color.  I had been contemplating the one above after seeing it in Belk on clearance but ran straight back to the store to get it once I saw how great it looked with all these outfits. I have always stuck to boring purses- black, brown, beige- because I don't swap them out very often. I am adapting though and learning to change my purse a little more often.  Now, for the rest of the outfit. I have a similar navy trumpet shape skirt in my closet but it's, ahem, a little to snug at the moment. I wasn't feeling my navy pencil skirt either, so I went with navy trousers. I don't have mustard pumps or wedges either, but I really liked the pop of that color in the inspiration outfits and remembered I have this necklace. So with just a few switches, I have my own version of one of the inspiration outfits. I may or may not have fallen in love with a necklace in that post too and searched out ebay for it. You'll know in a few posts to come.
