Everyone should have a little white dress in their closet. It's the summer version of the LBD, just cooler. I purchased this cotton eyelet dress last summer on clearance and could not let this summer pass without wearing it. I started out with a blazer because I was copying this look and because I try not to show too much skin for church, but it was extremely hot in there this week, so I had to ditch the blazer.

Are you sick of seeing hot pink? I tend to get fixated on a certain color and wear it for a few days. You saw this blazer last week and pink yesterday. I'm posting it again today. In addition to yellow, I really like hot pink with navy. I've worn this blouse with a full navy suit before, but I decided to go for more color and wear the pink blazer.

I love to infuse color into my work attire. There is no better color than cobalt. I have a couple of outfits with cobalt and grey pinned, but I had to add a twist and a little more color by throwing in the necklace. Oh and the shoes too. I got lots of compliments on these shoes all day long.

This is a very casual look for me. I'm on the fence about keeping or tossing these pants. Rolled up to this length pictured and worn with flats is not flattering at all for me.  Overall, I still think the concept of this outfit is cute. I wore this last weekend to the movies. Theatres are always cold to me, so the jacket came in handy.

Cardigan and tshirt

 

Today's oufit is a style swap of Modern Modesty. And a subconscious one at that. I had to work last Saturday on a somewhat emergency basis, which meant I had no clothes picked out for the day. It was supposed to be a sweat pants and tshirt house cleaning day. It was a nice day but still cool enough for sleeves, and I knew I would be outside part of the time, so I threw this together. Later, when I went through my pins, I realized the top half was this outfit that I had pinned with a slightly different shade of blue. (BTW, do you follow me on Pinterest? Who says business attire has to be boring? Take a basic navy suit and add a polka dot top and colorful necklace and you've got a fun work outfit. I often "rebel" against the "expected" attire in my workplace with outfits like this.
