The easiest way to make your work attire feel like summer is to add a white blazer and or bright colors. I did both with this outfit. I was inspired by this outfit I found on pinterest. I made it more work appropriate for me by replacing jeans with trousers and went with a smaller statement necklace. Notice my belt? Remember I'm trying to change up my belts and not wear the same black or brown belt every day. I had gotten in a rut there. I was happy to find this metallic number along with another belt at the thrift store for $1.07.

A cobalt blazer is a must have. If you are looking for something with a little more interest than a standard navy blazer and still want to fit into a conservation work environment, the cobalt blazer is the perfect option. I have worn this one multiple times and reach for it over and over again. The color has remained popular season to season, and I have a feeling it's going to get paired with olive this fall.  Another fun option for your work attire is a green pencil skirt. You don't have to go all out in color. Pair it with a white button up and more neutral blazer, or leave the blazer off and go with leopard accessories, as shown here.

This combination should have been obvious but it took me a while to realize this blouse goes perfectly with the skirt. Oh how I love remixing my closet.

Have a great weekend!

Bright and floral

I finally had a day at work suitable for wearing a skirt. Of course I chose a pencil skirt. It's my go to choice for the office, but outside of work, I love a full midi or aline skirt. I had this top and skirt combination in my head last year and never got around to wearing it. This top has an open back that's not suitable for my office so I also threw a cropped black blazer over it. And who would have thought that you could find a stunning pair of statement earrings at Tuesday Morning? for around $6? I'll let you in on a little secret. I rarely never pay more than $10 for a pair of earrings. I love costume jewelry and the cheaper, the better. This ring is a DIY from a vintage clip on earring. I just cut the clip off and glued it  to a ring base from the craft store.

Lovin' it

This is going to be short and sweet. I took a couple of days off work this week, and after working only one, I still feel like it has been a long week. So I'm dragging and running a bit behind this morning.

I'm loving this necklace with this blazer and blouse. I didn't think this necklace would make it's way into my work outfits when I first bought it, but here it is, and I'm lovin it!

The sleeveless trench

The trench that I included in my capsule is finally making an appearance. When I decided that I had to have this piece, I went on an all out search and caved in and spent more than I would like to on one piece, even buying second hand on poshmark. I convinced myself it would be very versatile for work and lighter than a blazer when it got warmer, but then I didn't have the courage to wear it because it's so different for me. I'm sure it will gradually see more wear. I had fun wearing it.
