Brown and navy

Brown and navy pair so well together, especially when you have an accessory like this necklace to tie them together. I'm not a huge fan of wearing a blazer over a peplum top, but it was cold in the office, so this is exactly what I wore.
I hope you enjoy your weekend. For many of us, it's a three day weekend, but with a great price paid by others to get it. Let's not forget what we are celebrating this Memorial Day.

We got tempted with fall and then the high 80 temps came back. Ugh! So this is the best I can do to still feel like it's fall. I wore this outfit  to church Sunday and then to the funeral of a 32 year old woman who passed away that week. Her death was an utter tragedy and her family needs lots of prayers.

I feel like I've had lots of items on repeat lately. The mustard crossbody was on repeat for a week and now you are seeing these marsala shoes two days in a row. I do that sometimes. I get fixed on one color or item and it gets worn out until the next item gets my attention. Do you go through this?

Happy Halloween! Do you dress up? We do, always in spooky or scary attire, with lots of other roles players and hand out lots of candy. Candy is hard earned at our house, but it's so much fun! Here are a couple of peeks back at prior Halloweens:

This peplum top has only made one other appearance on the blog. While I consider this a classic piece, I just haven't worn it. I guess I should. I got lots of compliments on it at work. I was inspired by a pin on pinterest showing a navy top and camel pants to put this outfit together. To keep it from being too plain I chose burgundy red pumps and this olive and gun metal statement necklace with brown and peach beads to play off the camel color. I wanted to keep it a little conservative because I had court, but if you really want to make this more colorful and make this outfit pop, I recommend bright red shoes and a colorful statement necklace.

Mint and navy

Mint and navy- another great color combination. The navy keeps the mint professional. The peplum edge makes this feminine and the pencil skirt keeps it stuctured. When I wear things to the office that I might not otherwise, I do so by pairing them with neutral or structured pieces that are office appropriate. I was going to wear this to church a couple of weeks ago, but decided to wear it to the office instead the next day.
