Hello and Happy Monday. It's the start of a brand new week and it's also time for 9 to 5 Style. I chose hot pink blazers as our topic for this month's theme. I can't wait to see how Jennie has styled hers. 

Red, white, and blue for work or play

I have typically worn this shirt with all navy in the past. I love how the white gives it a little more of a nautical vibe. Less of a bumblebee vibe. Even though it's navy/yellow, my boss always says it reminds him of a bumble bee when I wear this shirt. His poor wife- that man SO CANNOT give a compliment. But we get along well, and he is funny at times, so I don't take offense.

I've gotten a lot of wear out of these white pants during this capsule. And I'm not going to stop wearing them when it's over. Speaking of ending, I'm going to stop this capsule at the end of this month. I know  I could make another three weeks worth of outfits, but I am so bored with this. I feel like they are just becoming a switch of a bottom or a switch of a top and not really a different outfit. Sometimes a simple switch of a piece is all it takes, but sometimes it's really boring. But there's always striped shoes to combat boredom!

Do you still follow that old rule "no white before Memorial Day"? Not me. I've been wearing these white pants since spring rolled in.  They create quite a contrast with this blazer and blouse which I previously wore together with navy pants. Just a few changes can make a totally new outfit. Here I changed the pants, shoes and accessories.

I believe my formula for spring/summer is truly going to be black, white and a pop of color. At least for this capsule. It's been the formula for the week.

I scored this blazer on Thred Up for $25! I never saw it go below $70 when it was available on the Banana Republic site in my size. I was excited to find it because my hot pink blazer really needed to be replaced.

Another blogger pointed out yesterday that this is technically the last week to wear white. Um...I'm not ready for that. I know a lot of you are looking forward to fall and even experiencing it, but we had temps over 100 last week so I still have summer on the brain. And I still have summer dresses and outfits to wear. I can't seem to get around to them all because I can only wear some of them to church due to the restrictive conservative work dress code I'm required to follow. 

 

So... I'm not sure I'll follow the rules outside of work. I may keep wearing white even after next week.

 

I based this off this outfit that I pinned. I'd love to go with shirt tail out like the inspiration photo, but that might be frowned upon at work.
