Return of the coral blazer

Blazer- Forever 21 option
skirt- Isaac Mizrahi for Target- thrifted option
shirt- old option
shoes- Ann Klein/Belks
necklace- gift option
Worn April 2, 2014

I was so happy for the return of spring and the chance to wear my coral blazer again. I purchased it towards the end of the summer last year, so I'm looking forward to give it a fair share of wear this year. And skirts too. I love the cut of this one. Next to a good pencil skirt, an a-line is a must.

Casual weekend

Denim jacket- Old Navy
shirt- Gap similar
cargo capris- JCPenney (old) option
shoes- Payless option option
necklace- Sassy Steals option
Worn March 29, 2014

This is a very casual look for me. I'm on the fence about keeping or tossing these pants. Rolled up to this length pictured and worn with flats is not flattering at all for me.  Overall, I still think the concept of this outfit is cute. I wore this last weekend to the movies. Theatres are always cold to me, so the jacket came in handy.

Vintage Coro

Jacket- thrifted similar
blouse- JCPenney (gift) option
pants/shoes- JCPenney option
necklace- thrifted vintage Coro

This oufit is basically a repeat of this one with a different shirt and minus the leopard print. No matter how many times I wear it, this jacket is one of my favorites. I accessorized with another thrift store find- a rhinestone vintage Coro necklace. Vintage jewelry and brooches are other favorites of mine.

Camel and navy

Blazer- Dorothy Perkins option
blouse- JCrew Factory
pants- The Limited similar
 shoes- Ross option
Worn March 26, 2014

Some more basics paired in a ready-to-work combination. Do your clothes give you certain emotions or feelings? I felt confident and productive in this outfit, even with the flats. I like to wear flats for a break from time to time, but prefer a little heel because of my height and thick legs.  This was just a refreshing mix of basics, but I have to give credit for the idea to The Classy Cubicle for the idea.

7 Pieces, 7 Outfits

Today I'm playing along with Walking in Grace and Beauty and Ma Nouvelle Mode for a 7x7 remix challenge. I love these challenges because they get me to take a good look at my wardrobe and come up with outfits I probably otherwise would not have.

I picked 7 pretty basic pieces. Truthfully, I find them boring to remix but I wanted to challenge myself to see how different I could make them with shoes and accessories since those don't count in the 7 pieces. I truly believe that shoes can totally change the vibe of an outfit.

Here's an overview of my seven outfits:

My seven pieces of clothing:
1- Old Navy anchor blouse similar
2- Red pencil skirt- similar
3-white jeans- Loft
4- gingham button up similar
5-black midi skirt Dorothy Perkins
6- black lace top similar
7- red shorts similar

Now here's a closer look at each outfit for you:

Anchors away

Blouse- Old Navy option option
skirt- thrifted option
scarf- Forever 21
earrings- Target similar
Worn March 28, 2014

When I came across this anchor print blouse on clearance at Old Navy, I could not resist. I knew it would be perfect for the summer and the nautical/ anchor trend is so popular right now. Same with the scarf- when I saw the price drop at Forever 21, I had to get it. I paired the blouse with a skirt to make a dressy work outfit, but it will go just as well with jeans and shorts.
