Cobalt sweater and black midi skirt

Sweater- thrifted option  option
skirt- Dorothy Perkins  option option
booties- TJMaxx  option  option
necklace- gift  option  option
purse- JCPenney option  option

I'll just go ahead and put this out there- I was not very happy with this outfit after photographing it. Some things look better in my head than on my body. Even though this sweater is still a favorite top, I don't really like it with the skirt. I doubt I'll ever repeat it. Maybe a cropped or shorter sweater will work, but not this one. I like tucked in blouses better with this skirt.

I had an anniversary reception to attend tonight and wanted to dress up but not wear a "work" outfit. This is where the 30x30 gets tricky for me and I feel limited in choices. This is what I came up with and I went with it.

Earthy

Blazer- old  option  option
blouse- old JCPenney  option
pants- Limited
shoes- Ann Klein via Belks
necklace- Target  option option
earrings- Limited  option  option

The remixing continues.... the blouse was seen on day 4 and the pants were worn on Monday. I'd rather not repeat pieces in the same week, but not repeating tops in a week is the best I could do.

Happy Friday. Hope you've had a great week!

Blue, grey and a pop of red

pants- Belk option  option
belt- thrifted  option  option
purse- Nine West  option  option
shoes- Ann Klein via Belks

For a work outfit, today I'm pairing the shirt from day 1 with the pants from day 2. So far I'm not bored and still enjoying the ease of the 30x30 challenge. Have you ever done a 30x30 remix? I'd love to hear what you took away from it. Did it change your style or thought process about outfits? I'm definitely focusing on accessories more.

Leopard, grey and mustard

Blazer/skirt- Sears option
blouse- TJMaxx  option  option  option
shoes- DSW option
necklace- Forever21 option
purse- Belks  option  option  option

I love grey and mustard (or yellow) together. Aside from wearing this blouse with teal, grey is the only color I've worn it with. I need to expand this blouse's wear, thus it's in the mix for my 30x30. I'm loving the leopard with this also. I wouldn't normally pair leopard with grey, but the mustard is tying it together nicely.

Cobalt and red

Blazer- old- Belks  option option
sweater- thrifted  option  option
pants- JCPenney option
necklace- gift option  option
shoes- Ann Klein via Belks

It should be a given that red and blue go together but I had never thought about cobalt and red until I mixed these pieces from my 30x30 choices. So I warned you that the remixing would begin- you saw the sweater on day 2 and the pants on day 4, but I'm sure you would agree these are totally different outfits.

What unexpected color combinations have you come up with lately?

I'm over a week into my 30x30 challenge and I haven't repeated clothing items or outfits yet (other than shoes). The remixing will likely start tomorrow, so stay tuned.

This is a very simple outfit, but sometimes it's good enough. Simple gets overlooked when you are trying to come up with a great outfit to blog about, but really works well. Sweater + slacks+ layered necklace+pumps= dressed for work.

I had this leopard and orange combo in my head all last fall but never got around to wearing it. So I threw the orange skirt in the 30x30 mix as a wild card and so I could wear this outfit. The leopard shirt is a great piece to have in the mix because leopard is a great neutral and pairs with almost anything. Leopard can be worn year round but I'm more drawn to it in the fall.

I wore the skirt to church and for the rest of the day I wore the blouse with white jeans and the bow flats. I love a versatile piece of clothing.
