Half yearly sale picks- Saturday shopping

If you haven't had your fill of shopping before Christmas, there are lots of after Christmas and year-end sales going on now, including the Nordstrom half-yearly sale.  I find this to be a good time to stock up on basics and try a few trends on the cheap. Here are a few of my picks:

Those Sam Edelman booties would be totally acceptable at the office and my current go to out of the office outfit is leggings and a tunic, so it's a great time to pick up another tunic sweater.  I have the plaid blanket scarf (seen here) and I just picked up the knit infinity scarf (less than $10!). The pop of mustard is going to be a much needed pick me up for my winter closet.  Even though the holidays are almost over, a velvet tee would make a great piece for those other upcoming special events or even Valentine's Day. If you don't want red or green, give this black off shoulder version a try.

If you're looking for a classic go to accessory for work, get a faux pearl necklace. I wear mine all the time.  I also received a Blanknyc jacket from the hubs for Christmas. If the sale jacket is as soft and comfy as mine, I say snatch it up!

Hello everyone! Are you looking forward to a New Year? We sure are. But before I move ahead, I wanted to show you top 10 most viewed posts on Savvy Southern Chic. These are not necessarily my favorites, but based on views, these are yours.

This is an outfit formula I've relied on before- pencil skirt and sweater+ heels.  Since this sweater makes it's own statement, I went with more of a statement heel instead of adding a necklace. I also threw on a couple of other interesting pieces, like the Kendra Scott ring and cuff. The ring was from my last Rocksbox. I hated to send it back but relented and did so. I know that I said yesterday that I had been wearing a lot of greys but I did interject some color one day recently. I love a pop of color like this pink against an otherwise neutral outfit. Sometimes you just need to brighten up a day.

Some of you are having winter and snow, while we are having a humid 75-80 degree day. Nonetheless, my mind seems to have turned to winter palettes and I've been wearing a lot of burgundy and grey lately. Just beware, you will see a lot of this color in the days to come. 

 

I still have lots of holiday stuff to do so I'm cutting this short. I actually have extra stuff to do since one of hubbys items (gift) arrived opened and loose in the package. GRRR... Now I have to return it and wait on another.
